As a particle physicist I was involved in the ATLAS and CMS experiments of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, one of the most ambitious scientific projects ever attempted. I worked with thousands of collaborators from all over the world to explore the fundamental nature of matter and energy. We designed, built, and operated complex particle detectors, and then used statistical analysis tools, such as machine learning, to find small signals in the mountains of big data. Iām co-author of over 600 peer reviewed scientific papers about this research.
